Chickens, turkeys and ducks and pigs.

Indications for use : 

• Chickens, Turkeys, and Ducks: Used for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible organisms. This product is not effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. Treatment should be based on susceptibility testing and adhere to local antimicrobial policies.

• Pigs: Used for treating salmonellosis and pasteurellosis. 

Contraindications :

• Do not administer to rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, or guinea pigs.

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin. 

dosage and Routes of administration:

• Chickens, Turkeys, and Ducks:

      o Administer the product via drinking water. Prepare the solution with fresh water immediately before use. Once opened, use the contents of the sachet immediately and discard any unused medicated water after 12 hours. Ensure that animals do not have access to any other water supplies during treatment.

      o Chickens: Recommended dose is 15 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate per kg of body weight, administered for 3 days, or up to 5 days in severe cases.

      o Ducks: 20 mg/kg body weight for 3 consecutive days.

      o Turkeys: 15-20 mg/kg body weight for 3 to 5 days, depending on the severity of the infection.

• Pigs:

      o Administer 20 mg/kg body weight daily, either through drinking water or liquid feed, for up to 5 days. 

      o For drinking water, dissolve the contents of one sachet (150g) in the required amount of water immediately before use. Medicated water should be consumed within 12 hours. For liquid feed, dissolve 25g of the product per liter of water, then mix with feed. Medicated feed should be consumed within 4 hours and not stored or fermented. 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD : 

• Chickens: 1 day

• Ducks: 9 days

• Turkeys: 5 days

• Pigs: 2 days

• Not authorized for use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption.
